Spanning three generations and 50 years, the family-owned Damico Contracting needed a new office to showcase the craftsmanship and detail they provide clients. Using exterior materials on interior surfaces, created a thematic aesthetic statement in tandem with a working display of craftsmanship.

Commercial windows, wood siding and steel trusses exist right alongside modern furniture and lighting, selected for their modern sensibilities as well as the ability to withstand the wear and tear of daily use. Construction orange and the bright blue of the Damico logo were used to create a lively contrast with natural building materials.

The sprawling kitchen island on trestle legs and open no-nonsense kitchen is just as hardworking as the crew who utilizes the spaces. Damico’s local roots are further celebrated in a huge wall map showing metro Detroit as well as a gallery wall of completed projects. Reminiscent of an old shop, signage on doors and windows is hand-painted, and a vintage-style wall graphic honors the residential roots that started the company years ago.
