PTD’s goal was to create a space that would become the beating heart of a large office tower in Southfield, MI. The bright and airy service area of Traveler’s Tower Cafe features quarter turned blue tile with contrasting white grout, poppy light fixtures and sophisticated signage calling out the cafe’s offerings.

A main dining area sits beneath acoustic baffles that create an intimate atmosphere where diners can sit and mingle at large tables or one of the cozy lounge areas. Off the main dining room sits a richly upholstered banquette nestled into a beautiful cocoon of monochrome blue carpet and wall panels accented with bright fixtures and wood tables.

Sconces illuminate the cafe’s columns delineating the dining area and bring the space down to a more intimate height. A blend of workhorse furniture pieces play nicely with more sculptural pieces to create a fun, yet functional area that invites socializing and mingling. Traveler’s Tower Cafe is sure to be the home away from home for employees – a place to retreat, relax and refuel.
