An aging bookstore, a nondescript strip mall. Skymint brought PTD a unique and daunting challenge — meticulously re-imagine these meager surroundings into a dynamic space that connects customer and culture. The result is their newly branded flagship location, in Big Rapids.

The client and PTD collaborated closely to create an elevated cannabis retail experience. A gabled slat wall structure creates a monumental entry that welcomes guests from both the neighboring Ferris State University campus as well as the wider community. As guests enter the space, they are welcomed by rich tones and timeless materials that promote a sophisticated shopping experience and create a luxe setting that allows the product to shine.

Existing tapered steel beams received a vibrant poppy red coat of paint and create a natural rhythm that leads patrons through the space. The sophisticated cool of the flagship is perhaps best encapsulated in Skymint’s branded “Smoke Shop” that boasts a full listening lounge, plush lounge furniture, and a dramatic wall of black tile and millwork. Guests to Skymint’s Big Rapids store may come for the product, but they stay for the atmosphere.
