2941 MEDITERRANEAN STREET FOOD

ROCHESTER HILLS, MICHIGAN

Setting the design standard for all locations, we designed the prototype and first 2941 Street Food with this goal in mind: an open, airy, and colorful space that is durable enough to handle the wear and tear of a busy fast-casual restaurant. Taking our design cues from the coordinates (29N/41E is the longitude and latitude for the Mediterranean and Midwest), we used hard-working materials across a Mediterranean color palette: natural pine siding for the walls and millwork; Mediterranean tiles for the open kitchen walls and tabletops; cobalt painted table legs, straight out of a Greek seaside taverna; and large baskets, commonly used to display grains and vegetables in Mediterranean markets, turned upside down for custom light fixtures.
